JOSEPH ALVARADO
Beau/Mr. Upson
Joseph (he/him) is honored to be among the phenomenal cast and crew of MAME, his first production with 42nd Street Moon. Until receiving his not-so-golden handshake, he played the role of ‘worker’ for a gigantic financial services firm while moonlighting on stages throughout the Bay Area. Most recently, he appeared as ‘Resten’ in THE LANGUAGE ARCHIVE (Masquers Playhouse). Some of his most cherished experiences include playing ‘Jack’ in AUNT JACK (New Conservatory Theatre Center), ‘Chin’ in FLOWER DRUM SONG (Palo Alto Players), ’Ba’ in WHERE THE MOUNTAIN MEETS THE MOON (Bay Area Children’s Theatre), ’Jacob’ in LA CAGE AUX FOLLES (Bay Area Musicals) and ‘Bobby’ in COMPANY (City College of San Francisco). He was born, raised and is still living in San Francisco and shares his home with his 17-year-old cat Malcolm.

JESSE CALDWELL*
Babcock
Jesse is excited to be back on stage with the 42nd Street Moon where he last appeared as Mr. Hassler and Pop in THE PAJAMA GAME. Earlier this year he appeared as Cardinal James McIntyre in the world premiere of LITTLE HEART at the Jewel Theatre in Santa Cruz. He has worked in many Bay Area theatres including A.C.T., TheatreWorks, Center Rep, Shotgun Players, Hillbarn Theatre, and Crowded Fire. Jesse holds a B.A. from Tufts University, and M.F.A. from Stanford, and a J.D. from the University of Georgia.

CINDY GOLDFIELD*
Mame
Award-winning actor/director (and member of the 42nd Street Moon company since 1993), Cindy is thrilled to be back at Moon where she has appeared in many productions including A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, MACK AND MABEL, NICK & NORA, PEGGY ANN, SWEET ADELINE, and more. Moon directing/choreography credits include A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING, ONCE (2019 TBA Award-Best Direction/Best Musical), AS THOUSANDS CHEER, FINNIAN’S RAINBOW, FIFTY THOUSAND FRENCHMEN, THE ROAR OF THE GREASEPAINT- THE SMELL OF THE CROWD, SNOOPY!!!, THE BOYFRIEND, BAKER STREET, NO, NO, NANETTE, and THE MOST HAPPY FELLA. Other regional acting credits include: ACT, TheatreWorks, CenterRep, and San Jose Rep. NY credits include PROJECT:LOHAN and MR.IRRESISTIBLE at La MaMa E.T.C, with D’Arcy Drollinger’s Back It Up Production, with whom she also starred locally in SCAPEL!, and the SF production of MR. IRRESISTIBLE. This production of MAME is especially sweet because of the long-time association (but first time working together on a show in over 25 years) with Becky Potter, and because of the joy of the two littlest Potter girls. Special love to JIGA and CJGA.

NICK ISHIMARU
Ito
Nick (he/him) is elated to be making his Moon performance debut! He last worked at 42nd Street Moon as director of ANYTHING GOES and co-director of FUN HOME. He is co-founder of the Japanese American theatre company Kunoichi Productions in San Francisco and served as the Artistic Director of Theatre of Yugen from 2016 to 2020. Nick has trained in noh and kyōgen for over 10 years and remains a member of their performing ensemble. He is also casting associate for Marin Shakespeare Company, as well as Board Member of Festival Opera and advisory board member and presenter for queer arts organization Diamond Wave. TANIA JOHNSON*
Mother Burnside/Mrs. Upson
Tania is excited to step out from behind the piano, having been seen on stage last season as music director for 42nd Street Moon’s MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG. Tania is a TBA Award-winning music director, arts educator for Ruth Asawa School of the Arts and Southern Utah University, and vocalist on recent cast albums including East Bay Children’s Theatre’s video and CD release of ONCE UPON A TIME STEP. Acting credits include Reno Sweeney (The Western Stage), Fraulein Kost (SF Playhouse), and touring with THE MESHUGANUTCRACKER! (National Jewish Theatre Festival). Nearly two decades ago, Tania danced in the ensembles of 42nd Street Moon’s productions of CAN CAN and FUNNY FACE, as well as numerous other productions at theatres including TheatreWorks, AMTSJ, and The Willows Theatre. Tania expresses much love and gratitude to Becky Potter for all their collaborations over the years, and for continuing to have faith in her now.

ELIZABETH JONES
Vera Charles
Elizabeth is thrilled to be returning to Moon after appearing as The Lady in THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS. Elizabeth grew up in the Bay Area and is a graduate of Howard University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Arts. Elizabeth was recently seen in SF Shakes’ CYMBELINE, the world premiere of A.C.T.’s YA production of THE CODE BY THE KILBANES, Claudette in Theatre Rhino’s HOW BLACK MOTHERS SAY I LOVE YOU, Nancy/Boz in Center REP’s A CHRISTMAS CAROL, Radio in CAROLINE, OR CHANGE (Ray of Light) and Motormouth Maybelle in Bay Area Musical’s production of HAIRSPRAY. Some other theatre credits include Lady O in THE RIGHT NOTE (Spare Stage), Darlene in DANCE OF THE HOLY GHOSTS (Ubuntu Theater Project), Deloris Van Cartier in SISTER ACT! (Berkeley Playhouse) Ronnette in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (Contra Costa Musical Theatre). Elizabeth sends love to her daughter Caira and thanks God, family and friends for their support. LILLIAN KURTZ
Ensemble
Lillian is thrilled to be a part of the cast of MAME and to be working with 42nd Street Moon for the first time. Her past credits include Center Rep’s recent production of IN THE HEIGHTS and ALL SHOOK UP in 2009. In 2011 she was in CCMT’s production of HAIRSPRAY and appeared in The Mountain Plays cast of HAIR back in 2007 and Ray of Light’s HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL. Lillian attended the Academy Of Art University majoring in acting and musical theater. Currently she is a student at the American Conservatory Theater school and a vocal student at Inspire Music in San Francisco. She wants to thank her friends, family and coaches for their immense and ongoing love and support.

JOEL OCHOA
Junior Babcock/Ensemble
Joel (he/him) is excited to be making his 42nd Street Moon debut! A recent transplant to the Bay Area from Iowa, Joel was recently seen onstage in MACBETH (Lennox/Others) at Marin County Shakespeare and A CHORUS LINE (Butch) at SF Playhouse. Other onstage credits include: DOG SEES GOD (CB), SPRING AWAKENING (Moritz), THE LAST FIVE YEARS (Cathy), INTO THE WOODS (Jack), HELLO DOLLY! (Barnaby), and THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME (Clopin). When not onstage or screen, Joel is a grad student earning his MFA in Acting from Academy of Art University and a teaching artist at Marin County Shakespeare. SARAH SCHORI
Fan/Pegeen/Ensemble
Sarah is thrilled and grateful to be making her Moon performance debut after working as Associate Choreographer on THE PAJAMA GAME last year! She spent the first part of this year appearing as Marion Kessler/dance captain/ensemble in the west coast premiere of ELVIS THE MUSICAL at Sierra Rep. She then co-choreographed the east coast premiere of the show at the Dutch Apple in Lancaster, PA. Other favorite roles include Kitty in DROWSY CHAPERONE (Sierra Rep), Lily St Regis in ANNIE (TVRT) and Adelaide in GUYS AND DOLLS (Ghostlight Theater). Sarah has a BFA in dance from the University of Arizona and teaches Pilates in the East Bay when she’s not performing. She’d like to express gratitude to family and friends for always supporting her theater adventures as well as gratitude to anyone who supports live theater!

JILLIAN A. SMITH
Gloria Upson/Ensemble
Jillian (she, her, hers) is ecstatic to be returning to 42nd Street Moon with MAME after last being seen as Erma in ANYTHING GOES. She is a recent graduate of UC Berkeley, where she studied Theatre, Dance, and Computer Science. Recent credits include Bebe in A CHORUS LINE and De Boys Dancer in AS YOU LIKE IT (SF Playhouse), Adriana in THE COMEDY OF ERRORS (SPARC), Maggie in KINKY BOOTS (Ray of Light), Toria in BLOOD AT THE ROOT (Custom Made Theatre), and Jamie in THE LAST FIVE YEARS (Barestage Productions). KURT TIJAMO
Patrick
Kurt (he/him) is a graduate with a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from San Francisco Conservatory of Music. This proud Filipino-American is an active musician and actor in the performing fields of Los Angeles and San Francisco, with a diverse resume in both opera and musical theater. His latest theatrical appearances include Billy Cane in BRIGHT STAR with Coastal Repertory Theater and Ghost/Senator cover in THE SHINING with Opera Parallèle. Alongside his theater career, Kurt is a songwriter and artist signed with Manila based entertainment group, Curve Entertainment. He has been seen performing his original music on the programs “Wishclusive” on WishBusUSA 107.5 and “TropangLOL” on TV5, and his music can be found on all major streaming platforms. @Intheroleofted

ELISE YOUSSEF*
Agnes Gooch
Elise is thrilled to be back at Moon, after last being seen as Lady Jackie in “Me and My Girl”! Before that she was seen twice in the role of the Ghost of Christmas Past in “Scrooge in Love”! Her other more recent roles were Sherrie in “Rock of Ages” at Center Repertory and Luciana in “Boys from Syracuse”. She was also seen as Alice Beineke in “The Addams Family” at San Jose Stage Company, and Mom in “Max Understood”, a world-premiere musical that débuted at the Cowell Theater in San Francisco. She also starred as Miss Dorothy in Prism Theatrics production of “Thoroughly Modern Millie” in Fort Worth, Texas! She is a graduate of CAP21’s 2 Year Professional Musical Theater program in NYC. She also received her B.A. at UC Santa Cruz in Theater Arts. She has performed extensively in the Bay Area with several companies including 42nd Street Moon, Diablo Theater Company, CCMT, Center Repertory, and Shakespeare Santa Cruz! Her favorite role yet is mom to her precious daughter Mara Dixon!
